Description: This course covers the REALTOR Code of Ethics of the National Association of REALTORS in its entirety. Students will learn about the Preamble to the Code, the 17 Articles of the Code and their respective Standards of Practice, as well as the Pathways to Professionalism.
Upon completion of this course, attendees will have gained additional knowledge that is NJ specific on a variety of regulatory topics that will give them an in depth review of the laws and rules that regulate the way business should be conducted in New Jersey. Knowledge in the areas we believe will help reduce the risk of licensees falling into areas of non-compliance.
Environmental Regulations Affecting Real Estate
Environmental Regulations can deter and lengthen a real estate transaction. Environmental due
diligence in real estate transactions involves the assessment of known, potential, and contingent
environmental liabilities and obligations associated with a parcel of property to be acquired. The
presence of hazardous building materials, including asbestos, radon and lead-based paints, in
onsite structures. Known or potential soil or groundwater contamination beneath the property
from current and historic uses. A new property owner could run into costly environmental issues
if due diligence is not practiced while purchasing the property.
Mold and Real Estate Transactions
During the home inspection process often mold issues arise and the real estate agents need to know how to respond.
